I’ve just made these cocktail recipe magnets that I like very much. I’ve used bushes from dan at flyguydesigns.com who I think is designing the best brushes out there. If you’re looking for flower/foilage brushes they are absolutely the best. So you can snap up a set of the magnets at madeit.com.au – just check under magnets for a few others as well. Shameless I know. http://madeit.com.au/dev/proddetail.asp?ID=433
961 kilojoules………. May 30, 2007
Thats a lot. Thats how many in a smirnoff black label vodka – 335ml. That’s almost a meal! Thats a LOT of bootcamp dvd’s. And thats a shame. Because I really would have liked one tonight to soothe my throat, that feels like it’s been freshly and violently rubbed with sandpaper. No wonder you start to feel podgy after a week of having a couple of them every night! They’ll have to be special occasion only. Sigh.
billy blanks kicked my arse May 29, 2007
I always knew exercise was no good for you. And after doing a billy blanks bootcamp dvd yesterday I am further convinced of this. Today my back is right on that edge – right at the point where I can feel one wrong move will send me to the lounge for a few days, stuck in this funny (not ha ha) bent over crooked kind of way. Shame really because it really felt like it was toning and trimming as I did it.
In other news, I found this advert and I think my mother must have seen it once as well, as I don’t remember sunscreen being a regular part of my childhood. And I definitely made friends with the sun. And as a result I now get to make friends with my sun damaged skin.
thanks christ that was a dream… May 14, 2007
because I woke up and immediately checked that I didn’t in fact have one leg covered with gnarled, knotted varicose veins. It seemed so real. And why do they teach you that stupid verse at school anyway. I before E except after C. Because there are lots of words where the e is before i – and no c in sight. I’ve just had an interesting taste sensation. A sugary coffee with a salty breadstick. Not sure what I think about the salt/sugar combo. Magnet of the week and ain’t it the truth!
I have a quandry May 11, 2007
I have these fantastic pictures of some girls from 1969 and I was going to put them on magnets. But seeing as how they are topless I’m wondering if I go to the markets to sell them, will people be offfended. Will I be tossed out by some narrow minded fools who find them offensive. I think they’re lovely. Maybe I shouldn’t put them on display. Maybe I’ll have to have a folder under the table marked XXX and I’ll have to say to people – psst, do you wanna see the good ones? Oh, quandry. Why do people find breasts and bodies so shocking. P.S. I think I have tonsilitis. P.P.S. – Wait until they see some of the ones from 1890.
the kings cross wax works May 2, 2007
how cool was that place. We went there a few times when I was a kid and I loved it. I particularly liked the guy being tortured on the rack and the shark attack scene. We went to kings cross for a few family holidays. It was so exciting. Seeing the fountain and the ice cream shop. All the strip clubs. This was in the 70’s and it seemed very glamorous to me. I think we went so dad could go to the cricket. So I was pleased to find this packet of matches and she has become my favourite. I’ve made her into a coaster and she shall be mine. Daz says she looks a “bit rough”. But thats exactly what I like about her. She hasn’t been airbrushed or photoshopped, she hasn’t got fake boobs and she looks like she wouldn’t take crap from anyone. What you see is what you get. The backgrounds a bit grubby so I’ll fix that. Go girl
making your own coasters May 1, 2007
Is much harder than I thought it would be. When I looked into how people were making them, they seemed to be sticking a picture to cork and putting a sealer on it. But they looked crap. So I decided to put a piece of wood between the picture and the cork. Which looks much better but you have to get all the sides level and smooth which requires a huge arse saw. But you can’t touch the picture with the saw or it gets shredded. Then to find a suitable sealer so they’re waterproof. You can’t use one that requires a brush or you get brush marks left on it. Have tried a gloss lacquer that took the colour out and a krylon finish that left bubbles on it. I think I’ll go with the krylon crystal clear. Although it does have a sticker on it saying that – in the state of california it has been known to cause cancer, birth defects and other abnormalities. So I guess it’s lucky that I’ve finished having kids and I don’t live in california. I’ve left a couple with the smash repair place and next time they spray a car they’re going to give them a blast to see how they look. If I was a quitter I’d have quit about a week ago.
Anyway I found this guy amongst the matches and I’ve turned him into a magnet and hopefully a coaster. Good old Bob. Wonder if he’s still around.
