Give us a break woolworths.

Easter eggs and hot cross buns on the shelves already.

I seem to be unreasonably pissed off about this.

Or unseasonably.

On a completely unrelated note, my calendar says that today is officially "Australia Day". I have no idea what that is, but I hope you have a good one.

I had it thanks – yesterday. It was very hot. I don't really get into it. Where I live its just an excuse for idiots to have a day off work, get really drunk and make trouble. What its supposed to be celebrating is the first fleet arriving here in 1788 and shoving the brittish flag in the ground.

its just an excuse for idiots to have a day off work, get really drunk and make trouble.Sounds a lot like our Fourth of July…except that celebrates kicking the British out, of course.

  4. cat Says:

well we're hoping to have that sort of celebration soon ourselves – although only about half of us seem to want a republuc – it has to happen eventually

  5. Red Pen Says:

Yeah, a bit soon. For goodness sake.

  6. cat Says:

9 weeks to easter – they'll have mothers day cards out soon

  7. Worker Says:

just think what is in the hot cross buns that will make them last..or will they?

  8. snoringKatZ Says:

I'm convinced that if retailers keep pushing the holidays earlier and earlier, eventually they will inadvertently align with the calendar again. So I'm encouraging this. As a matter of fact, I'd like to see Christmas stuff out in stores about 8 months earlier than they are right now.

  9. cat Says:

lol, hadn't thought of that – bet they don't last though

  10. cat Says:

Oh yes, I forgot about Valentines day – Easter got the jump on it this year. You'll be able to give easter eggs for valentines day presents.

  11. cat Says:

    haha – good point

Interestingly, my niece's birthday is Valentine's Day-she'll be 19-one year my brother and his wife bought a bunch of candy hearts and the kids were allowed to put as many as they could fit in a goodie bag.

  13. Crush-Monkey Says:

WOW! Haven't seen Easter stuff out in the stores yet here!

  14. cat Says:

been out here since 4th January

  15. cat Says:

that'd be nice – being a valentines day baby

Kraftbury (Can't call them Cadbury any more can I?) start the creme egg season from 1st January and don't end it until 4th April. Come on, tell me that's not commercialism gone mad.
They've got a bloody website dedicated to it.

  17. cat Says:

must say the cadbury creme egg is my least favourite – everyone should boycott themand they'd better not change the cadbury recipe – thats my favourite chocolate – plain milk cadbury

  18. Ninja Says:

The stores are just mad. Clothes are sold at least six months pre-season eg. winter range is flogged in summer, and you buy your budgie smugglers and other rude bit patches in the winter. It's all screwed!

  19. cat Says:

oh yeah, the clothes really annoy me – its impossible to think about buying jeans and long sleeves when its 40 degrees outside

  20. Catalina Says:

"you buy your budgie smugglers"I am picturing a parakeet wearing a snuggie! 🙂

  21. L Says:

no hot cross buns here 😦 one of the things i most miss with easter in the us. instead we've just been overwhelmed with valentines day stuff (since the first of the year – i swear they had stockers in at midnight changing over the displays!) its just this sea of pink and red and sparkles… ugh

  22. cat Says:

I haven't seen a single hint of valentines day here yet – thank god
