Good Kitty August 19, 2009

My mother often snips little stories out of newspapers and magazines and posts them to me. She also used to send me photos of people I went to school with from the local paper, but I never had a clue who they were. Once she sent me a photo from the paper of one of my old boyfriends and when I opened it I could only wonder why she was sending me a photo of a middle aged balding man.

However today this arrived.

The kitty litter cupboard. She said over the years when she has seen it she has thought of my cats (all dead now) and wondered if they would use it.

I would have to say – I really don't think so. For one thing they were all housetrained and had a little cat door to get outside when they needed to. And the second thing was if they ever did find themselves locked in the house they used the bath. Which was disgusting, but easy to clean.

My favourite part of the kitty litter cabinet are the hand towels on top.

Must say the cat doesn't look very happy. I bet they opened the door and tossed him in, then waited for him to pop out.

LOL – I get snippets in the mail also – strange ways to deal with garden bugs!

shoot, you could make one for a helluva lot less with your existing cabinets and a hammer.

I would worry about the…air-conditioning aspect of this creation. That is, there's not much circulation going on there.
The cat doesn't look so much displeased as smug. As in, "You might know what I left there, but you have no idea how much."
    I love cats.

lol, it would be a pretty awful job cleaning it out. Imagine your visitors, they'd be thinking something was really stinky, but wouldn't know where it was coming from. Or the surprise when they went looking in the cabinet for some extra toilet paper.

I bet those towels smell nice.
I wish I could train my cats to use the bathtub. It would be so much easier to clean! If faced with this enclosure, they would probably aim for the space between the litter box and the wall.

lol, there's something a bit wrong with wishing you could train your cats to use your bathtub as a toilet you knowthose towels crack me up – no way I'd use them

  7. LOL, you can see it in the cat's eye: She and the photographer hate each other to the guts.

  8. cat Says:

    definitely not impressed

  9. I think, those black speckled cats are never impressed by anybody. I remember ours was waylaying our schnauzer on a hay trailer, jumping on his neck, latched on the stampeding dog. The whole family was afraid of that cat. She ruled the farm.

My Grandparents used to send me things like that, thank goodness no cat cabinets….So pretty but so stinky!

Oh, you just gave me an idea. What it needs is an exhaust fan installed into the wall to get rid of the smell. That'd impress a cat. A small dark box with a noisy fan circulating near its bum.
