Papas slidebox. Bit of a mix here.

Planes. I really wish they'd stop falling out of the sky. I'm going to have a bugger of a time getting Daz and Kimba to Thailand at the end of the year. She flew to the Whitsundays this morning (poor dear), and sent me a text at 10am saying she was having a wine to calm her nerves.

Road trains. All over the roads in Australia. Huge long bloody things that are impossible to overtake.

And automobiles. Downtown Los Angeles 1964.

Wow. Looking at the vehicles in both photos, I am suprised to see many that were 10 or more years older than 1964. Interesting to note too that A/C was an uber luxury option way back when. Too bad all of these vehicles have long since rusted, been junked. At today's prices you'd be looking at a small fortune in vintage vehcles.

Butler air used to be in Cootamundra. I think they did some Hunter Valley "routes" too. (I remember learning about them at school).

those black cars always remind me of gangsters.

  8. cat Says:

    yeah – they're pretty mad

  9. Ahhh… some of my friends who get nervous before flying stay awake the night before so that they'll have no choice but doze through the entire scary journey.

  10. cat Says:

lol, we're thinking of drugging them

Wow it looks like you've inherited some gems from your Dad. Unfortunately my dad has disposed of all his early slides. A casualty of us moving around so much.

  12. That works too! Sleeping pills 🙂 Just remember to wake them when the plane docks in the Thai Airport. 😛

These were my grandfathers, and they've been living in a box in mums garage for about thirty years. She was going to take them to the tip but I said I'd have a look at them first.
